The Miller Group**- Summary Main Responsibilities- Coordinate subcontractor and suppliers
- Track project costs and productions
- Assist foreman and superintendents in their daily tasks
- Assist in project planning and scheduling
- Ensure compliance with contract documents and specifications
- Assist with the preparation of thorough, accurate and timely estimates
- Assist with the preparation and submission of bid documents and the development of clear written proposals and correspondence
Requirements:
- Working towards a Civil Engineering Degree (1st or 2nd year preferred)
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wideranging climates and environments
- Possess strong mathematical and computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office, MS Project and bidding software)
- Knowledge of construction, with ability to read plans and specifications
- Knowledge of provincial and municipal specifications and practices including understanding of contract language
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Work independently as well as part of a team
- Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills/time management skills
- Extensive travel required; must hold a minimum valid class 7.2 or class 5 driver's licence
- Good understanding of budgets, costing and time tracking
- Willing to work flexible hours determined by demanding construction schedules, including nights and/or weekends
- Ability to travel extensively with extended stays away from home
