THE OPPORTUNITY


The Collaboration Technology Specialist is a key member of the Digital Workplace team, and is responsible for designing, engineering, and Tier 3 support of meeting room conferencing and communication technologies that support a mobile hybrid workforce.

The Specialist has excellent communication skills and builds relationships with business users, identifying requirements, developing new solutions, and assisting clients in running successful meetings.

This role goes beyond install only.


The Specialist has depth of experience configuring, managing, and deploying modern technologies such as the M365 suite, MS Teams telephony/audio conferencing, MS Teams Handsets, and MS Teams Room (MTR) hardware and associated peripherals such as cameras, microphones, speakers and screens.


The position has three career progression:

  • Level 1: Responsible for the configuration and operations of meeting room and other communication technologies and contributes to projects with a low-to-mid level of complexity, typically acquired through 3+ years of experience. Works independently, applies technical concepts effectively, and has demonstrated working knowledge competency within the role.
  • Level 2: Responsible for the configuration and operations of meeting room and other communication technologies and leads projects with a mid-to-high level of complexity and stakeholder engagement, typically acquired through 5+ years of experience. Works independently, applies technical concepts effectively, and has an experienced level of competency within the role.
  • Level 3: Responsible for the configuration and operations of meeting room and other communication technologies and leads projects with a high level of complexity and stakeholder engagement, typically acquired through 8+ years of experience. Works independently, provides guidance and training to others, and has an advanced level of competency within the role.

WHAT YOU BRING


The following qualifications are illustrative of a standard Level 2 and may be scaled down or up in scope and depth of expertise or experience based upon the level selected.

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Communications, Education, Technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience- A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting and designing solutions using Microsoft communication platforms such as MS Teams, including detailed knowledge of telephony, audio conferencing, and communications hardware- A minimum of 3 years of experience defining standards, designing, deploying, and managing Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) or related hardware- Excellent interpersonal skills in customer-service and communications (verbal and written) including the ability to lead meetings in-person and remotely- Excellent collaboration skills and experience working with technical and non-technical teams and audiences in a fast-paced corporate environment- Experience with Microsoft 365, cloud technology platforms and workplace technologies, such as SharePoint Online, MS Teams, MS Exchange, Intune, OneDrive for Business, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365, Power Apps, and modern calling- Experience with integrating change management methodologies into a broader rollout of digital transformation- Knowledge of Agile principles and delivery frameworks


WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH


As the Subject Matter Expert, the Specialist works closely with Platform Engineers and external service providers to recommend and deliver solutions, and provide senior level guidance and support to the Service Desk to ensure a seamless experience for end-users.


WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO


The following responsibilities are illustrative of a standard Level 2 and may be scaled down or up in leadership, complexity and autonomy based upon the level selected.

- Plans, implements, deploys, and provides ongoing escalation support for MS Teams and the latest meeting room collaboration technology, such as Microsoft Teams Room (MTR) hardware- As part of a team, plans, implements, deploys, and provides ongoing escalation support for MS Teams telephony and telephony features, conferencing, and related hardware such as handsets- Consults with clients and develops solutions to meet their business requirements, and assists clients in use of the technology Defines standards and participates in roadmap creation with an understanding of business objectives and technical needs and identifies opportunities for standardization, automation, and optimization- Identifies and builds process improvements around the usage and deployment of A/V technology- Maintains management tools such as Teams Room
