Maintenance Planner - Cobourg, Canada - Core Molding Technologies

Summary/Objective
This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating proactive maintenance work with the objective of minimizing total maintenance costs and effort by maximizing maintenance efficiency and productivity.
Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive MRO program; working closely with OEMs to build critical spare parts lists by asset. Includes ordering, receiving & organizing all MRO material within the ERP system
- Schedules maintenance and PM in a way that minimizes equipment downtime and impact on production
- Manages all service providers & associated budgets, and negotiation of contracts
- Directing and executing the maintenance work order program
- Monitor and evaluate completion of tasks
- Order parts, supplies, materials as required
- Managing the store room parts inventory
- Manage and schedule maintenance activities such as inspections, calibrations and equipment PMs
- Supervises shift maintenance workers.
- Occasional Back up coverage for Production/Maintenance supervisors
Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all employees of Set
- Up department and is responsible for the performance management and participation in selection process of the employees in that department.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional manufacturing office and shop floor environment. This role routinely uses standard manufacturing equipment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, use hands, handle tools, objects or controls; reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and listen; may lift or move products up to 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position may occasionally require extended hours and/or weekend work depending upon the demands and urgency of the job. There might be periodic requirements for shift coverage on behalf of other Supervisors.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience
- Certification or strong aptitude in a related field e.g. millwright, electrician
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with Maintenance computer (Excel and Microsoft Project) and information system components.
- Ability to motivate and work well with maintenance & Ops crews to solicit input and develop ownership of key processes
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Project Management experience; ability to coordinate multiple projects across various shifts
Preferred Education, Qualifications, and Experience
- Previous Supervisory experience an asset
