Providence Centre is a licensed supportive living and accredited long-term care facility. It was built in 1965 by the Sisters of Providence and is primarily the home of the Sisters.

Providence Centre sits on a 25-acre property with beautiful grounds, a chapel, and an oratory to the Mary Mother of Sorrows.

Dietary, housekeeping, linen and maintenance services are provided in-house.

Job Availability:

Job Status:
Casual

Hours of Work:7.5 hours per shift; days, and weekends

Expected to Work from 6:30am - 2:30pm

Job duties include but are not limited to:

Perform cleaning for a variety of surfaces by sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, disinfecting, and/or burnishing
Carbolize patient/resident rooms, common areas, and offices
Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom and fixtures
Collect and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner, disposing of waste/trash into proper containers throughout Providence Centre Complex
Collect soiled linen, operate washer/dryer/iron/heat press, fold and deliver laundry to appropriate areas
Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants and solutions used for cleaning

Qualifications and Requirements:

Possess a positive attitude, sincere desire, and ability to deal respectfully and pleasantly with the Sisters, staff and visitors
At least 1 year of experience in housekeeping/laundry operations
WHMIS training is an asset
Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector
Must be fluent in English, written and verbal
Must be able to adapt to different physical environments
