General Accountability:


  • Develops, reviews and implements quality management processes for field oversight observations and verifications of the Contractor's Quality Plan (e.g. monitoring, inspection and progress of onsite work; factory acceptance and commissioning of engineered equipment).

Key Job Functions:


  • Participate in related field issue evaluation and resolution, e.g. risk analysis, site contractual and regulatory infractions, etc.
  • Receive, forward, review and track the various submittals to multiple internal/external reviewers for ensuring complete, timely, and coordinated responses.
  • Participate in, schedule and coordinate commissioning of new equipment in accordance with manufacturers' instructions and the contract requirements.
  • Schedule and coordinate operational and maintenance training, ensuring documentation and training records are complete.
  • Organize, review and distribute closeout documentation.
  • Promotes a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies.

Skills:


  • Maintain documentation and historical records

Education and Experience:


  • Completion of a postsecondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g. engineering technology), along with directly related experience in multidiscipline construction projects; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Completion of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management training (Auditor courses) and O.A.C.E.T.T. certification as an Engineering Technologist are assets.

Additional Requirements:


  • Sound knowledge of construction quality management principles, practices and techniques, as well as knowledge of construction methods and processes (equipment, techniques, materials, standards).
  • Must have or acquire knowledge of commissioning, training and operations/maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to read and understand construction contract documents.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations for Construction Projects, and Quality Assurance and Control programs for construction projects, as well as the TTC's safety policies and procedures applicable to the instruction contract.
  • Sound judgement; strong organizational, administrative, and problem solving abilities; effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; keen observation skills and detailoriented; ability to prioritize and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office suite.
  • A valid Province of Ontario Class G driver's licence would be an asset. May be required use of own vehicle required for visits to construction sites that are not easily accessible by public transits.
