The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Recreation Branch on a full-time temporary basis from June to November.

Responsibilities:

Provides administrative support to the Manager, Supervisors and Coordinators in Recreation.

Attends meetings as required and compiles summary report of the discussions at the meeting. Provides information at the meetings as required. Ensures action items are completed and that the recreation leadership team is kept up to date on proceedings.

Responds to public inquiries on behalf of the Manager, Supervisors and Coordinators as needed.

Assists with the creation and organization of training materials, policies, and procedures for the various recreation operational areas.

Reviews all tracking documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.


Ensures efficient records management for the Recreation department in accordance with the Town's Records Management System by maintaining manual and computerized records.


Qualifications:

Requires a certificate or diploma in Office Administration or a related field.

Requires at least 2 years of administrative experience. Recreation-related administration experience would be an asset.


Excellent verbal and written communication to clearly communicate information in an appropriate manner; to create documents, correspondence and write basic reports.

Competent technical skills including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, Outlook).


Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines and to deal with multiple priorities while providing administrative support to the Manager, Supervisors and Coordinators.


Ability to work independently on a variety of assigned tasks or confidential matters and to use judgment in decision making including determining priorities in order to meet deadlines.


Salary:
$ $32.83, plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan


Hours: 35 hours per week, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday


Dates:
June - November 2023
