JOB OVERVIEW


The Sunnybrook Research Institute, Physical Sciences, Department of Psychiatry, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is currently in search of a full-time, research assistant.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducting Psychological Assessments:
Administering and scoring standardized psychological tests to individuals under the supervision of Dr. Feinstein.


  • Collection of

PHI:
using a standardized demographics form, and patient reported outcomes.

Scoring and Interpretation:
Accurately scoring test responses and interpreting test results within the framework of established normative data.

Report Writing:
Writing clear and concise assessment reports summarizing test results.

Collaboration:

Collaborating with psychologists, neuropsychiatrists, neuropsychologists, research fellows, medical assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to integrate test findings with other assessment data and help formulate diagnostic impressions.


Client Interaction:

Interacting with clients in a professional and empathetic manner, explaining the purpose and procedures of the assessment, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.


Test Maintenance:

Maintaining test materials, ensuring their proper storage, organization, and security, as well as staying informed about updates and revisions to test manuals and procedures.


Professional development:
There may be opportunities to attend workshops, seminars, conferences, or collaborating on research publications.

Adherence to Ethical Guidelines:

Adhering to ethical standards and guidelines established by Sunnybrook Research Institute, regarding confidentiality, informed consent, and professional conduct in psychological assessment.


Data entry:
Accuracy and close attention to detail when inputting data into a large database. Occasional maintenance tasks, including backups and proactive quality assurance, are also part of the responsibilities. Additionally, performing analyses on cognitive metrics and demographic variables will be required. Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of statistics and experience using SPSS statistical software.
