Job Summary:
The Dining Services Supervisor assists the Dining Services Manager in managing the dining services at The Dunfield.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain staff schedules in accordance with the events and activities organized for each week.
- Support the Dining Services Manager to ensure that the department's objectives are being met.
- Assist in organizing all resident private parties and marketing events for in house banquets.
- Establish and oversee daily scheduled cleaning duties.
- Responsible for staff scheduling with approval of the Dining Services Manager.
- Work closely with the Dining services manager to resolve staff issues.
- Provide assistance in the recruitment of new hires.
- Coordinate the new hire and onboarding process, including the collection of paperwork, arranging orientation and establish training schedules, etc.
- Establish and maintain communications within the department and with other departments to ensure the needs of residents are being met.
- Maintain all required records such as invoices, reports, statistics, etc. in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Responsible for daily management of health & safety as it pertains to the Dining Services department including but not limited to:
- WHMIS
- Knowledge and enforcement of all Health and Safety policies within the residence
- Act as the employer representative in the Joint Health and Safety Committee
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Training new employees
- Monitor and complete inventory of F&B Supplies and equipment.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education, preferably in Hospitality
- 2 years of supervisory / management experience
- Smart serve certificate
- Current Food Handler Certificate
- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous working experience with seniors is an asset.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform the following: carrying or lifting items up to 50 pounds, moving about the restaurant, handling food objects, plates, trays, glasses etc.
- Considerable bending, stooping and kneeling required.
Working Condition:
- Shift work including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Must be available to work all holidays

Up to $45,000.00 per year
