Responsibilities:


What do our French Translation and Communications Specialists do?


The
French Translation and Communications Specialist will provide broad-based French communications translation support to Rentokil-Terminix Canada and its 3 lines of business including Rentokil-Terminix, Steritech and Ambius Canada.

In addition, translation support will be required for internal program areas and departments within the organization across North America.


This includes, but is not limited to, producing, reviewing and editing a variety of content in both English and French and project managing all aspects of content translation and other key communications initiatives.


Essential Duties and responsibilities, listed but not limited, below:

  • Translate a variety of written material such as correspondence, reports, legal documents, technical specifications, training material, and textbooks from one language to another, maintaining the content, context, and style of the original material to the greatest extent possible
  • Able to prioritize tasks based on urgency and company needs across all lines of business
  • Localize software and accompanying technical documents to adapt them to another language and culture
  • Revise and correct translated material
  • Provide translation support for voiceovers, subtitles, Word, PDF, PowerPoint, XML, XLIFF and HTML files.
  • Knowledge of, and participate in, OQLF compliance initiatives across all businesses.
  • Ability to Identify the terminology used in a field of activity
  • Work with the Communications Department as required to provide highquality English to French and French to English translations for all digital and printed materials of the society including, but not limited to, statements, governance documents, motions, minutes, presentations, newsletters, and website and social media content;
  • Translate marketing content, from English to French and French to English, for both online and offline channels including web/digital, social media, video scripts (i.e. closed captioning), newsletters, information sheets, print and digital ads, press releases, job postings, etc.
  • Translate training material in digital /online format
  • Review and edit externally translated materials to ensure accuracy, consistent language use, and alignment with national messaging.
  • Adhere to branding standards and guidelines to ensure a consistent and customerfriendly tone and voice for communications.

Experience, Education, Skills & Qualifications

  • University degree in translation, linguistics, communications, marketing, or related communications designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 35 years of professional translation communications experience within a corporate, public sector or agency environment
  • Strong communications generalist, with experience supporting strategies and campaigns that focus on strong internal and external customer service orientation,
  • Complete fluency in both English and French (both written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of English and French languages, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar, and pronunciation.
  • Relevant experience in language editing and/or proofreading
  • Demonstrated project management experience, an asset
  • Demonstrated strong translation and writing skills (in both English and French), for range of communications channels and formats, including: online, media materials, presentations, newsletters
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Team player and a relationshipbuilder who thrives in collaborative environments
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced environment with quickly changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to interact effectively with customers at all levels of the organization and to work in a team.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and under mínimal supervision
  • Must pass preemployment background screen
