LEVEL 1

Permanent Full Time

37.5 Hours/Week

Work Arrangement:
On-site

- *Must be able to work shifts to support coverage from 6am-7pm; Monday to Saturday*_

Brampton Site

ErinoakKids is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician, Level 1 to join the Facilities Department.

Under direct supervision of the Supervisor, Facilities, this position is responsible for general building and property maintenance across all ErinoakKids site locations including Mississauga, Oakville, and Brampton.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct general labour initiatives including but not limited to routine maintenance checks, daytoday building operations, and preventative maintenance;
  • Assist with general and therapy related equipment inspection, repairs, maintenance and delivery;
  • Conduct general site inspections to ensure that all hallways, meeting and clinical treatment rooms are clean, tidy and set up appropriately;
  • Inspect and maintain building equipment and system components, including those for HVAC, life safety, water treatment, electrical, plumbing, building interior and exterior envelope, swimming pool and mechanical;
  • Inspect and verify emergency power, fire suppression, and sprinkler systems;
  • Inspect interior and exterior building grounds, clean up and maintain grounds and playground equipment;
  • Regularly inspect and test Fire safety equipment, diesel generator and fuel storage services;
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders and schematics;
  • Read and understand code books, operating/procedures manuals, manufacturer's specifications, log books, inspection sheets and warranties;
  • Respond to ad hoc maintenance requests and complete work orders as required.

Qualifications:


  • Maintenance Technician diploma, BOMI Certified or equivalent;
  • 5 years of experience in building maintenance, HVAC, Building automation systems, and general labour:
  • Strong understanding of trades (HVAC, BAS, painting, carpentry, drywall, electrical and plumbing) is required, along with knowledge of preventative and demand maintenance;
  • Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and familiarity of building systems;
  • Ability to work with building automation and computer maintenance management systems;
  • Certified pool operator is a considered to be an asset
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs;
  • Knowledge of health and safety;
  • Ability to work flexible hours;
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and client service skills;
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
