JOB OVERVIEW- (OPG) is excited to offer one

(1) student opportunity in our

Strategic Initiative Department in
-
Toronto, Ontario. This is a
-
four (4) month student placement commencing in
-
May 2023.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Monitor trends and developments of strategic importance to the energy sector. Develop business intelligence summaries to support key decision makers.
  • Support OPG's strategic plan and growth plan, including the analysis of potential strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ensure strategic alignment across the organization through development and delivery of presentation material.
  • Support OPG's innovation strategy through the identification and assessment of strategic investment opportunities.
  • Develop briefing materials for senior leadership on any of the above matters, as required.
  • Support hydroelectric generation projects, including ongoing redevelopment projects and identification of future greenfield projects.
  • Support project management activities, such as cost and schedule updates, business case approvals, documentation/drawings transfers, gathering, recording and implementing lessons learned.
  • Support financial modelling of new business development opportunities.

EDUCATION

term University in a full time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in fulltime studies at a postsecondary institution.
  • Have a minimum average of 70% cumulative GPA.
  • Returning to fulltime studies in the same program following the completion of the work term OR requiring the work term or coop placement to graduate
  • Expertise with financial modelling as well as an ability to keep up to date with external capital markets.
  • Strong research, communication, analysis & collaboration skills as welll as good foundational knowledge of the energy sector in Ontario.
