STRABAG is actively seeking a BIM Modeler for our Canadian division where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization.
Job Summary:
We're looking for an BIM Modeler to join the team and to be located at our Eglinton West PROJECT Reporting to the Design Manager, you will oversee the adoption of 100% BIM modeling and extensive use of design automation for project delivery as part of a major corporate initiative.
Main Functional Links:
Design Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in Project team to create 3D models of tunnels and civil structures in a BIM environment
- Attribution and editing of the BIM model
- Work closely with engineers and designers to create models and drawing sets documentation and archiving
- Communication with structural leads, designers and project team members on regular basis to ensure effective and timely flow of project information to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Manage and coordinate BIM standards development, implementation, and quality on all related files and models
- Work across disciplines to ensure an overall design fit together and satisfies
- Troubleshoot all problems that arise in a rapidly changing digital coordination environment
- Maintain BIM Principals such as BIM Forum
- Level of Development Specification, ISO Standard, Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and Metrolinx CADD/ BIM Standards Manual.
- Assist in teaching other Project team members and new employees about the BIM method
- Direct and supervise other technician activities as required
- Work closely with STRABAG BIM Departments
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and Publisher)
- Proficient of AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit and Bentley infrastructures is considered an asset
- Knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, programming or equivalent.
- Knowledge of NavisWorks, Solibri, 360 Glue or equivalent.
- Organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Creativity be capable of "outside the box" or new thinking with respect to model and drawing production challenges
- Attention to detail, Selfmotivated and flexible
Qualifications:
- Minimum 23 years of experience in the construction industry
- Bachelor's in construction management or engineering preferred
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
Work Environment:
The employee is generally required to work on a construction site.
