POSITION:
Retail Store Manager - Mississauga ON


REPORTS TO:
District Retail Manager


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:


Under the supervision of the District Retail Manager, the store manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store, ensuring it runs smoothly and effectively.

This position also oversees all Tuck Shops and Travelling Sales.


In this position you will be responsible for selling DGN uniform products and services, assisting customers with their product needs, and managing all store sales staff.

They are responsible for order fulfilment and inventory management. They will perform related work as required.


TASK MANAGEMENT:


1.
Customer Service and Sales

  • Fulfils all online orders, and maintains strong knowledge of open order products.
  • Meets and exceeds all store sales targets
  • Accessories etc.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Sell additional items and services that the customer may not have anticipated they needed (Hem tape, tights, socks, backpacks)
  • Ensure all staff are trained according to company sales program, and refresh staff when applicable
  • Manage store appointments and ensure that there are enough Associates on the salesfloor to assist customers during the Back-ToSchool timeframe.

Store Shipments, Merchandising, and Loss Prevention

  • Receive and display all new shipments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all orders are up to date, and backorders are organized.
  • All products must be displayed according to the Merchandising section in the Employee Handbook. Store front must be maintained in a neat and tidy fashion.
  • Know where products are in the store and keep all backrooms clean and organized.
  • Be aware of any current promotions and correct pricing.

3.
Store Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure that all store opening and store closing duties are performed.
  • Handle and process all returns and complaints graciously and effectively.
  • Correctly handle all register transactions. Any errors to be reported to Store Manager or Head Office.
  • Ensure the store is neat, clean, and organized upon store open, and throughout each business day. Complete all Store Scheduling. Monitors and schedules staff for Grade 8 event nights when scheduled.
  • Complete Store Payroll by end of week and adhere to payroll hours.
  • Weekly Recaps are completed and sent to District Manager on Tuesday's for feedback purposes.
  • Complete all administration duties checking Slack or any other administrative tasks that are requested by Head Office.
  • Adhering and upholding all store cleanliness standards.

1.
Recruiting, Hiring, and Training

  • Inform District Retail Manager of all staffing needs. Recruit and train all staff (including BacktoSchool staff orientations).
  • First round interviews for all full time and part time staff.
  • Ensure all hiring forms are properly completed and sent to Head Office.
  • Train all staff according to DGN Policies and Procedures and utilize any additional training products sent out from Head Office.
  • Handle all staffing issues in a professional manner when necessary.
  • Actively participate in all programs, events, and procedures that drive sales (additional hours may be required).
  • Attend all Head Office training sessions.
  • Use company literature and available training resources to stay up to date on products and product features.
  • Must be able to liftup to 30 pounds & standing for long periods of time.

  • Ensure time & materials allocated to correct client docket.

  • Follow all ISO & SQF policies as relates to Quality and Food Safety.
  • Always communicate Health & Safety and food safety rules to other staff, as applicable.

CRISIS MANAGEMENT:


QUALIFICATIONS:
(Skills/Education/Experience)

  • Responsible and highly motivated.
  • General understanding of the principles of sales.
  • Strong communication skills, and ability to manage a team.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Previous experience in customer service.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales quotas.
  • Proficient in computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Passion for meeting customer needs.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends

RETAIL HOURS:

Tuesdays: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Wednesdays: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Thursday: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Friday: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Saturday: 11:00am - 5:00pm


Salary:
From $40,000.00 per year
