Langley School District #35 is seeking applicants for the position of
Technical Support Specialist - Level 2.
SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Manager, Technical Services and is responsible for providing technical support on Windows and Macintosh environments, hand-held devices, LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi technologies within the district.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides on-site technical support for a variety of hardware, software and network related problems.

Assists schools and the District with researching and evaluating new products for features
and functionality and identifies appropriate solutions to address changing technology needs.
Keeps up to date on developments in the technology industry.
Maintains and updates documentation on school-based technology setups, configurations, specifications, infrastructure, etc.
Performs other assigned comparable duties which are within the scope of knowledge, skills and abilities required by this class specification.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
A degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum five (5) years' experience providing technical support, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience with installation, configuration and troubleshooting a variety of computer systems,
networks, smartphones, iOS devices, Internet technologies, software, and enterprise wireless
technologies.
Experience with providing support on Macintosh and Windows environments.

Demonstrated evidence of sound interpersonal skills with a positive customer-oriented attitude.
Ability to use courtesy and tact in explaining and exchanging data or information, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
Physical ability to perform the required duties.
Valid B.C. driver's license.
Rate of pay:
$32.23/per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package.
