General Accountability:


  • Develops and delivers the Workcar and Power Cut programs to support all training matters pertaining to activities associated with the subway and workcar fleets, and subway/surface infrastructure systems. The role develops training programs, conducts classroom and practical instruction, evaluates the performance of students, certifies that employees have completed the required training and are qualified to perform the duties of the job. Prepares and maintains training materials and various reports, and ensures the availability of resources to meet training needs. The role conducts research (needs analyses, surveys, and reviews policies, procedures, legislation requirements, etc.) relating to the work.

  • Ensure work practices are following all policy and legislation requirements
  • Oversee, develop, deliver, and/or evaluate training programs
  • Establish a working relationship, typically in order to cooperate on matters of mutual concern
  • Direct, supervise, and control a process or program through monitoring employees and activities
  • Provide assistance to further progress on a given initiative, or, share resources, knowledge, or expertise with others
  • Perform quality assurance checks on an ongoing basis
  • Demonstrate behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work and service environment that is free from discrimination and harassment. Help to remove barriers and accommodate employees and customers (within their area of responsibility) in accordance with TTC's commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC's policies
  • Participate in the TTC's Customer Service Ambassador Program

Skills:


  • Create and deliver presentations in various formats
  • Train and instruct individuals and / or groups
  • Communicate in a variety of mediums

Education and Experience:


  • Completion of a postsecondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Adult Teaching Certificate at a community college in Training and Development

Additional Requirements:


  • Must have directly related work experience with various types of Rail Workcars
  • Knowledge of Power Cut or Track system will be considered an asset
  • Sound knowledge of, and the ability to apply, adult education principles, instruction, assessment, testing and evaluation techniques, research methods, and program design and development methodologies
  • Ability to read, comprehend and explain complex and/or operating and maintenance procedures; and ability to effectively deliver a comprehensive range of training programs to diverse groups in the classroom, at actual work locations, to large and small groups, and on a oneonone basis
  • Must possess a valid Class G Driver's License, and be able to upgrade to a class DZ/CZ or AZ as required
