What you'll do


The Manager, Field Operations for Canadian Tire Gas+ is responsible for leading a field-based team of 2 to 4 individuals who each oversee the store operations of their respective region.

As the Manager you will provide your team with coaching, direction and support so they can successfully achieve financial, operational, and personal objectives.

As part of the larger Petroleum management team you'll work collaboratively in the pursuit of overall divisional objectives and strategies.

You will play a key role identifying growth and sales opportunities as well as addressing opportunities to improve day to day operational results within in your respective district.

Our business is dynamic and requires thoughtful but nimble decision making

  • Manage topline sales and profits for fuel, convenience, car wash and propane. Identify and diagnose opportunities to improve the performance of indicators and the general performance of sites
  • Work with the Regional Business Manager to ensure retail level execution
  • Execute on a performance management system based on a combination of financial, customer service, and compliance targets
  • Recruit, Lead and Manage a Regional Business Manager team and set priorities and objectives
  • Responsible for financial key performance indicators and customer experience of +80 sites
  • Manage continuous process improvement and crossfunctional collaboration
  • Monitoring of activity performance indicators with a view to reporting and continuous improvement
  • Provide senior management with monthly business reviews and updates of current programs and processes
  • Short term and long term strategic planning
  • Project Manage and champion Adhoc initiatives that arise within the course of business

What you bring

  • 10+ years management experience
  • Bilingual French and English (oral and written) required
  • 5+ years experience in business planning or similar role
  • Experience working in the retail fuel industry
  • Experience working in a franchise business
  • Experience working across a matrix organization with various stakeholders
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Strong team management skills
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Post secondary education in business or a related field preferred
  • Ability to travel
