Experience:


  • 10 years of handson experience in Oracle, SQL Server Database Administration in 24x7 Production environment.
  • 10 years experience in the design and administration of logical and relational databases in diverse technological environments.
  • Experienced in Installation, Administration and Maintenance of various databases.
  • Experience in performance tuning with high data volumes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL and understanding of T-SQL, database triggers and stored procedures/packages.
  • Knowledge of database backup and recovery.
  • Experience working in a team environment with various database systems Oracle/SQL Server and mariaDB/MySQL.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and coordinate with remote team members.

Responsibilities:


  • 24/7 Oncall Support on rotation basis.
  • Supporting databases and ensuring their optimum performance, high availability and security.
  • Monitoring and tuning databases as well as single SQL statements.
  • Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases including evaluation and installation of database patches and upgrades.
  • Responsible for problem escalation and resolution by working closely with Application management/QA and development teams.
  • Ensure that operational and service level agreements are met for production processes.
  • Proactively work to mitigate risks within the database environment including space management, performance management, and backup and recovery strategies.
  • Regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis and predicting future database resource requirements.

Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or other similar concentration or equivalent experience.
