Key Responsibilities:

Generating and pitching interesting, original story ideas and angles for CTV News Channel.
Booking interviews with newsmakers and stakeholders
In breaking news situations, finding critical witnesses and experts to help with continuing coverage of the story
Finding the best guest for our Prime Time shows
Organize and plan coverage of major news events and breaking news
Work as part of a team
Ability to work in office for assigned shifts
Write scripts and add production (video, clips and graphics) to enhance interviews
Other duties as assigned.

Critical Qualifications:

Experience covering breaking news.
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
Indepth knowledge of political, domestic, international news and current affairs.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong chasing skills are essential for this position.
Experience in producing live and recorded programming.
Proficient in Word and iNews.
Active on social media
Exceptional communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to originate coverage on developing stories.
Experience selecting video to tell stories.
