Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s.
Job Overview:
The Banquet Server is responsible for serving all food and beverage items during assigned banquet functions/events.
This role involves setting and clearing tables, providing professional and friendly service to guests, following safety and sanitation policies, and ensuring a positive visitor experience.
Responsibilities:
Serve all food and beverage items for assigned banquet functions/events
Set and clear tables, providing service and information to guests in a professional, friendly, and engaging fashion
Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
Set up stationary and portable bars, transporting inventory to required locations
Prepare and serve drinks to customers in a professional, friendly, and engaging fashion
Organize alcohol inventory and administer the beverage bar according to AGLC laws and Heritage Park's operating policies and procedures
Assist with setups and organization of venues as required
Provide an exceptional visitor experience through friendly and courteous interactions with guests, staff, and volunteers, using polite greetings and actively acknowledging guests
Create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors with a customer-focused approach, providing courteous and friendly answers to inquiries and valuable information to enhance the overall visitor experience
Perform other duties as required

Contribute to inspiring and immersive experiences at the Park through your roles and responsibilities by engaging in Heritage Park initiatives that align with the overall mission and vision of the Park
Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety by complying with Heritage Park's Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS), following safe work practices, reporting work-related incidents, injuries and hazards, participating in employer training, and adhering to policies, including the Code of Conduct and the Workplace Violence and Harassment Policy
Actively support a positive work environment by creating an atmosphere of inclusion, engagement and fulfillment in line with Heritage Park values
Demonstrate responsible stewardship of our people, collections and financial assets by ensuring that they are handled with integrity, sustainability, and a focus on long-term benefits for the organization and its stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older to meet legal requirements for alcohol service
A valid Alberta ProServe license is required
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-facing setting
Ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment and focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Exceptional multitasking abilities to manage both serving and bartending duties simultaneously
Excellent memory and attention to detail for remembering drink orders and preferences
Familiarity with AGLC regulations and commitment to responsible alcohol service
Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage bar inventory and supplies
Effective communication skills for interacting with guests and coordinating with other staff
Ability to adapt to various guest preferences and customize drinks accordingly
All successful candidates (over 18) will be required to undergo a Police Information Check as a condition of employment
Special Clothing and Equipment:
Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park if applicable; and
Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.
Must be able to serve and clear with the use of large oval trays
Special Working Conditions:
The position will be exposed to weather extremes and will work both indoors and outdoors; and
This position is physically demanding, and the incumbent must have the ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the Park for extended periods
Hours of Work:
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; weekend availability is preferred
