The Muck Hauling Manager will be responsible for working primarily on the surface throughout the project and assist in the tunnel works when necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Initiates, coordinates, directs and evaluates plans, schedules of all mucking related activities
- Ensures compliance with STRABAG
Safety Program:
perform regular hazard analysis
- Oversee and monitor surface muck hauling logistic, organize soil sampling, and muck hauling operations
- Supervise muck hauling subcontractor to ensure muck hauling operations are being conducted in a timely manner
- Ensures sufficient manpower is provided by the muck hauling subcontractor to achieve safety, schedule and quality objectives
- Prepares over all work plan and schedule in conjunction with the TBM Manager and the General Supervisor
- Working close together with the Environmental Department to fulfill the requirements stipulated in the mucking procedure, like muck sampling and collecting and processing the records of the trucking related records and the corresponding weight note.
- Be the contact person in front of the mucking subcontractor for forecast and look ahead planning and to develop strategies to archive the project goals
- Reviews and provides assistance regarding quality assurance and control
- Monitors all site instructions and change notices and makes adjustments relating to the mucking process where required
- Proven ability to work proficiently in a product and project deliverydriven environment
- Experience developing controlsbased physical layouts and documenting their operations
- Selfstarting and able to track and maintain progress independently with the ability to work alone and as part of a diverse team of disciplines.
- Supervise, direct and maintain unionized workforce for all departments
- Inspect equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Advise management on whether continue operation of equipment could be hazardous
- Perform records and files, preparing reports
- Managing the conditioning process with the subcontractor and ordering of supplies to conditioning materials
- Carrying out invoice verifications on the mucking related tasks
Qualifications:
- 5 years progressive experience in the general construction industry responsible for logistic tasks, preferable with Lean skills and experienced in similar tunneling projects
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
- A strong understanding and working knowledge of STRABAG's Health and safety policies, Environment requirements along with the OHSA and it regulations
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
- You effectively provide overall supervision, coordination and scheduling of construction activities
- Proven ability to mentor and train
- A strong leader and problemsolver, you are able to build a steward trust with clients, subcontractors, and team members to effect competitive excellence and pride in teamwork with outstanding project delivery
- You have demonstrated competence in the areas of safety, workforce management, project execution, cost control and quality and administration
- Sound knowledge of the construction and building techniques
