PURPOSE:

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Coordinate and conduct internal audits in accordance with the QA schedule, perform root cause analysis, work out corrective and preventative actions from audits, and track completion.
  • Contribute to the compliance of the Vitalus policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs), statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Follow up with other departments on nonconformances, corrective and preventive actions, and validation activities to ensure completion in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and maintain QA records for prerequisite programs.
  • Monitor plant (interior and exterior) for maintaining regulatory and food safety requirements.
  • Review SOPs to ensure the documents are accurate, route the SOPs through the review and approval process, assess documentation for effectiveness and accuracy.
  • Provide internal training in accordance with the QA schedule.
  • Collect supplier and contractor facility documentation in accordance with the Vendor Approval system.
  • Coordinate change management and continuous improvement in processes, documentation, and quality systems.

COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Ability)

  • Knowledge of a range of Regulatory Requirements, Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Developed interpersonal skills that contribute to the team environment and the achievement of department business goals.
  • Problem solving ability, including recommendation and selection of the best alternative for solving the problem.
  • Ability to establish effective communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to generate new ideas and go beyond the status quo.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision on routine work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Food Science/Biotechnology or equivalent plus 25 years' experience or a BSc in a sciencerelated area of study and 2 years' experience.
  • Experience with HACCP or FSSC 22000 required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate oneonone.
  • Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, graphing, and database programs.
