Working Hours:

This is a full-time temporary contract position until March 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension pending funding approval.

(35 hours/week)


Duration:
This position requires in-person work from the office 5 days a week

Position Summary:


The position is accountable for the coordination of job search and employment related resources both internally and externally and will utilize a cataloging system to manage the inventory of resources ensuring that all resources remain current and reflective of the Labour Market.

The incumbent will deliver workshops internally and externally to diverse client groups ensuring that all training deliveries are experiential.

As well, the incumbent will assist in developing business relationships for the organization, promote its services externally and ensure that feedback from clients is addressed accordingly in a timely manner.


Working as part of a team the incumbent will assist clients with their job search, referrals and will track clients' participation as part of the organization's performance management.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Address clients' needs and help to determine whether assisted or unassisted service would be more beneficial for them. As well as, provide timely and accurate information on the policies and procedures for using the services and delivering scheduled orientations, EO-ES info sessions and training opportunities (Better Jobs Ontario) info sessions
  • Facilitate in person workshops predominantly, and virtual workshops only when authorized by management, to clients while ensuring that the workshop atmosphere is conducive to learning and sharing while empowering them to reach their career and employment goals. As well, facilitate information workshops to employers, as needed
  • Design workshops curriculum, review content ensuring accessibility to meet diverse learners needs, and evaluate workshops effectiveness using adult learning theories and methodologies
  • Schedule clients for job search workshops and provide follow
- up reminders prior to workshop delivery in order to encourage participation, and meet capacity in compliance with contractual targets.

  • Collect and track workshops and clients data and ensure client data is entered into CAMs and or the internal operation system. As well, assist with quarterly data analysis to track trends and to monitor progress in relation to targets.
  • Provide oneonone résumé and cover letter reviews for clients and give constructive feedback in a respectful and supportive manner. As well, referring clients to other references such as resume websites, resume books, dictionary or other services to further assist them.
  • Create new workshops as needed to ensure NEW offers training relevant to current job search and labour market trends.
  • Review workshops resources at the end of each quarter and update as needed to ensure that they remain current and reflect labour market trends.
  • Prepare workshop resources and handouts on the day before the workshop in order to ensure timely delivery and to prevent disruption during the session. Additionally, replenishing all resources and tidying the room at the end of the workshop.
  • Enter resources into a cataloging system and or toolbox and work as part of the team, monitoring, reviewing and updating resources, (e.g., publications, and job postings) at the end of each month to ensure they remain current. As well, identify new resources on an ongoing basis to assist clients with their job search.
  • Create and maintain, for the use of internal and external clients, a virtual library that includes all workshops and job search materials used in the department
  • Provide active listening to clients, identify issues and respond to their concerns in a timely manner. As well, identify organizational issues and concerns and collaborate with team members and management to find a resolution
  • Participate in staff/team meetings and share information and good practices to increase effectiveness and efficiency within the organization.
  • Develop new skills to remain current in the sector and participate in organizational professional development for professional growth and to help in building the organization's performance and knowledge management.
  • Clean the RIS environment daily with scheduled mornings and setup. In addition, utilize early closing on Fridays, to provide thorough equipment cleaning and organizing of the next week's resources.
  • Assist with marketing programs to boost traffic and increase service awareness.
  • Help to source business development opportunities in order to help build organization sustainability.
