This role sits within LBC Capital, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.


Responsibilities:

o Assists with the monthly P&L reporting and variance analysis.

o Assists with associated month-end entries.

o Responsible for tracking financial performance vs. plan and prior year; adding insights and highlighting risks and opportunities.


o Providing advanced analytical support, with timely and accurate reporting of financial performance via the preparation and delivery of monthly financial packages.

o Build out the monthly forecast and annual budget process.

The ultimate goal is to consistently analyze month-over-month / year-to-date variances to forecast and budget and use that knowledge to refine and improve the process.

The ability to strengthen the accuracy and reliability of the modelling also strengthens our partnership with sales, the CFO and Executive Committee and become best in class.

o Be self-motivated - continue to look for ways to automate / streamline processes to gain operational efficiencies.

o Think creatively, provide insights, and consider ways to improve and automate processes to gain operational efficiencies.

o Assist in the preparation and review of financial scenarios for new growth opportunities and pricing.

o Strong proficiency with Excel preferred. (VBA / Macros a definite asset)

o Assist with projects and presentations as needed.

o Preparation of ad-hoc analysis as required.

o Enhance financial acumen throughout the organization

o Verifies own work and the work of his/her peer for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and ensures compliance with internal and external audit and regulatory requirements


Qualifications:

o University degree in a related field and 2 to 5 years of experience

o CPA, CFA or Finance major post-secondary is an asset;
o Knowledge of banking and leasing will be an asset.

o Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office including Access, advanced Excel and Power-Point required

o Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

o Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written

o Able to work in a high-volume environment with an extremely demanding time frames

o Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills

o Highly motivated with a desire to succeed and progress

o Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team

o Bilingual (French/English) verbal and written communication skills is an asset.
