Bookkeeper - Mississauga, Canada - Chef Brandz

Recently Signature Culinary has expericed significant growth which has created this exciting opportunity.The Bookkeeper will directly assist the Controller in the day-to-day activities and month-end closings, using mainly QuickBooks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Factchecking accounting information
- Recording all transactions
- Disseminating reports to staff
- Balancing subsidiary accounts to reconcile accounts
- Ensuring all financial actions comply with local legal requirements
- Preparing financial reports by analyzing, collecting, and condensing account trends and information
- Process vendors' invoices and prepare cheques for payments
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Post customers' invoices and receipts
- Manage and update Inventory, calculate monthend adjusting entries for inventory
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- HST filings
- Prepare journal entries to support daily and monthly activities
- Assist in monthend closings
- Reconcile, analyze, and maintain various general ledger accounts
- Other miscellaneous duties
Qualifications:
- A degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Must have handson experience in QuickBooks
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must be a team player with excellent writing skills**:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills*
Experience: - accounting: 3 years (preferred)
