Food and Beverage Manager

JOB TYPE:

REPORTING TO: General Manager**
JOB DESCRIPTION:The incumbent is responsible for all F&B and Banquets outlets by achieving objectives for sales, profitability and return on investment and maintaining standards.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • To provide leadership and guidance to the hotels food and beverage team in achieving their goals and objectives;
  • To ensure that all "Standards of Operations" are known and followed in all outlets;
  • Monitor cleanliness and maintenance of food and beverage operations;
  • Maintain close liaison with the Front Desk, and Sales departments, as well as oversee the operations of the, Catering Department.
  • Maintain all costs as per budgeted levels, and high standards of guest service;
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets for all food and beverage departments;
  • Ensure there is necessary stock to maintain the daytoday operation of all outlets (cutlery, linen, etc.);
  • Conducts weekly/monthly inventories of the F&B supplies.
  • Conducts continuing review of F&B facilities, equipment and supplies, ensures scheduling of preventative maintenance, service and repairs as necessary
  • Orders/purchases goods, supplies or equipment in accordance with established guidelines and in accordance with anticipated needs
  • Recommends, plans/implements local advertising, promotion and market research activities, new products, presentations, recipes or pricing for sales improvement
  • Recruits, trains, supports & coaches staff to create a productive, efficient and motivated team.
  • The implementation and ongoing improvements of staff by running training programs;
  • Set up and monitor staff incentive programs;
  • Monitors level of service to all customers to ensure consistency with established standards and good judgment
  • Set up and execute Food & Beverage promotions and programs as warranted;
  • Develops/implements contingency plans which minimize vulnerabilities and optimize opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to Holiday Inn brand standards.
  • Increase market share.
  • Strong sense of involvement in the community.
  • Ensures 100% Guest satisfaction.
  • Implement & maintain all company policies & procedures.
  • Oversees daytoday F&B operations.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty program;
  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time by the General Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • Minimum 5 years Food & Beverage management experience within hospitality industry.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of management & staff in a professional manner.
  • Background in the development & control of F&B operating budgets.
  • Proficiency/familiarity with computerized systems.
  • Ability to work within deadlines.
  • Hands on management style a must.

WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Some heavy lifting required.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
