Job Description:

AECOM's Transportation Engineering Group in Regina, SK., is currently seeking a civil technologist to help support the Transportation team.

This position is ideal for self-motivated individuals looking to further their professional development and experience working with a leading design and construction engineering firm.


Responsibilities include:


  • Accountable for liaising with Project Managers and other stakeholders such as contractors to complete field survey work;
  • Proven abilities in drafting and technical experience working on transportation projects;
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction and transportation safety requirements;
  • Manage and perform field survey work including complete topographic survey requirements for roadways, culvert designs, and other construction projects;
  • Preparing and communicating field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data per required formats to support Project Managers;
  • Prepare CAD base files and drawing packages meeting client standards;
  • Ability to actively contribute to and work within a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Participate in change management policies, procedures, and follow through during the life cycle of each project.
  • Using RTK GPS field equipment, Microstation, InRoads/OpenRoads, AutoCad, and Civil3D to develop drawing packages for roadways, highways, intersections, transit, utilities and other transportation projects.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize complex and conflicting priorities while meeting deadlines;
  • Assist in the preparation of quantity estimates.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:


  • Technical Diploma in a relevant field - civil, etc. OR Highschool 2 years experience working with AutoCAD and Microstation
  • 2 years Surveying experience
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, and
  • Valid class 5 diverse license

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Postsecondary degree related to surveying and geomatics or demonstrate an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience working in civil technology roles with RTK GPS field equipment, AutoCAD, and Microstation.
  • Technical proficiency in Microstation, InRoads/OpenRoads, AutoCad, and Civil3D.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills typically demonstrated articulating complex design issues verbally in an accurate, understandable, and concise manner;
  • Proven track record establishing and maintaining functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience working in an automated office environment using most features of Microsoft Office 365 such as: Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook and TEAMS;
  • Experience with Alberta Transportation and City of Edmonton projects, an asset
  • Member of Professional Association with the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET);
