Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Talent Management (35%)_
  • Post and manage employment vacancies on various recruitment channels
  • Support the hiring manager in proactive recruitment initiatives
  • Coordinate, schedule and participate in interviews
  • Draft employment offer letters, promotion announcements and change letters for review
  • Facilitate the new hire onboarding process
  • Complete background checks for new hires when required
  • Setup new hire onboarding paperwork
  • Request technology and other company assets for new hires
  • Maintain database of job descriptions and ensure the most recent version is readily
accessible

  • Payroll and Administration (30%)_
  • Ensure new hire onboarding documentation is collected for payroll
  • Provide administrative support for payroll, time management, time off requests, etc.
  • Ensure the organizational chart for the company is up to date
  • Manage the company's resume database
  • Complete employment verification letters as requested
  • Ensure performance reviews are scheduled and maintained as per the schedule
  • Participate in the performance review process as required by department heads
  • Apply, obtain, and update security clearance certificates for employees as required
  • Employee Relations and Training (35%)_
  • Respond to employee requests in a timely manner
  • Escalate requests and/or concerns to the appropriate senior leader
  • Support and participate in company culture initiatives across the organization
  • Provide a positive and support working environment for employees
  • Work with employees to help educate them on relevant employment policies, programs
and practices

  • Manage mandatory new hire training programs (i.e. OSG, MOL Safety Training, etc.)
  • Facilitate the enrollment of employees onto various online learning platforms
  • Keep employee training records up to date
  • Maintain great teamwork and collaboration with other employees and departments
  • Any other tasks, duties, or projects assigned by the senior leadership team

Team and Reporting Structure

  • This position reports directly to the company's Senior Director and/or Head of Operations.
  • The role operates in the Human Resources division of the company.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Head of Operations and/or
Chief Executive Officer.


Work Format

  • 80% onsite in office
  • 20% remote work

Compensation

  • Fulltime position
  • Annual Salary Range $50,000 $60,000 CAD (depending on experience)
  • Group Health Insurance Plan

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years of handson experience working in Human Resources (particularly for a
growing organization).

  • University Degree and/or College Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma in Human
Resources Management or related field is required.

  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP/CHRL) designation is an asset.
  • Experience understanding employment law in Ontario is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Employment Standards Act in Ontario is required.
  • Strong leadership competence and a demonstrated ability to influence leaders and
managers in a variety of work-related situations.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of information.
  • Heightened awareness on the importance of maintaining confidentiality and handling
sensitive employee information.

  • Motivated, passionate and a keen problem solver.

Important Information

Salary:
$50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
