Position Summary:


The Manager provides supervision and leadership to the Welcome staff and volunteers in order to ensure the delivery and development of quality services within the agency's framework of vision, mission, goals as articulated in the program and the agency strategic plan.

The manager participates in the management team, which is responsible for the achievement of agency goals and objectives.


Summary of key duties:


  • Primary accountability for developing and implementing operational plans relevant to the program and operation, manage relevant budgets, and prepare grant and funding proposals as needed.
  • Responsible for management, effective supervision, training and delegation within the program area and to ensure adequate levels of staff to support operational programming.
  • Promotes and demonstrates through example the mission, values, and culture of CCI.
  • Demonstrates commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Maintains open communication and effective internal and external relationships.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Operations and others Managers in the development and successful implementation of program operational and quality plans.
  • Actively participates in management team and other committees and supports the Director of Operations in achieving overall organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with community resources for planning, coordination, and facilitation of programs within the manager's portfolio. Fosters partnerships and integration.
  • Complies with all relevant legislation and CCI policies & procedures, including provincial and federal privacy regulations.

Job Objectives:


  • Manage all operations of Welcome House with the support of the Operations Director.
  • Ensure the safety & wellbeing of residents in Welcome House
  • Plan, develop and implement program components and solve problems of integration and interface between the program components
  • Participate in program planning and development.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources implement policies and procedures and tools relevant for the smooth functioning of the operations.
  • Manage, supervise, coach, train and support staff (program, kitchen and building staff) and resources.
  • Order and keep inventory of all supplies in Welcome House
  • Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the building.
  • Maintain liaison with representatives of Government (federal or regional) regarding all Welcome House Concerns.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
  • Assume fiscal responsibility for the operation: participate in the budgeting process, the control and monitoring of expenditures
  • Identify and stay aware of policy, legislation changes and trends in the external environment that may be relevant to the operations of the agency
  • Conduct evaluations, collect statistics, prepare reports
  • Assist the Director of Operations in contract's negotiations with funders.
  • Participate in overall planning of the agency and in management team.
