The team is seeking a
Financial Controller with 5+ years' hands-on accounting managerial experience, with operational and financial management skills to effectively manage and control the financial aspects of business.

You will possess a CPA designation, and be accountable for financial reporting, business analysis, general accounting payables, IT, and other various accounting operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Maintain accuracy of reported financials, ensuring reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Prepare monthly reports of results, monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and strategic planning
  • Analyze and accurately report current month's financial results to the plant, sales, and corporate management; manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures while achieving company goals
  • Ensure all statutory requirements are met including withholding payments (CPP, EI), Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, credit control, and petty cash
  • Reconcile bank accounts and automated monthly credit card withdrawals; process credit card payments; manage cash flow
  • Prepare budgets and establish schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data
  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, etc. when necessary
  • Oversee and manage the daily job functions and performance of the finance team
  • Coordinate activities of external auditors.
The skills and qualifications that will make you successful in this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required; CPA required
  • Working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects, meeting required timelines with accuracy
  • High level of proficiency using MS Office (Word and Excel) and ERP/MRP systems (GP Bistrack)
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, banks, government agencies, etc.
