DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain/continually improve all Key Performance Metrics
- Labour Performance
- Scrap Reduction
- On time Delivery to customers
- Reduce/Eliminate Overtime
- Maintain mínimal inventory/drive inventory reduction
- Drive for zero defects (target zero customer concerns & zero customer rejects)
Labor Performance:
- Daily calculation and review of shift performance & initiate necessary corrections as required
- Coordinate manpower requirements for the following week based on running efficient
- Lead QIP activity on all problem areas, driving required improvements and report progress once per week to the Sr. Manufacturing Advisor
- Complete shift performance calculation and report to the
Scrap Reduction:
- Daily review and approve the past 24 hours scrap performance
- Correct errors and/or omissions on the report
- Lead QIP activity on all problem areas, driving required improvements and report progress once per week to the Business Unit Manager.
- Submit approved scrap reports to the Business Unit Manager for review
On Time Delivery to Customers:
- Ensure customer orders are shipped on time, full quantity
- Eliminate/reduce expedites
- Reallocate manpower within the plant as required to eliminate risk of missed shipments
- Ensure areas at risk are running full relief as required
- Coordinate manpower to achieve customer requirements
Reduce/Eliminate Overtime:
- Reallocate manpower within the plant as required to enable teams to meet customer orders on time
- Run full relief in areas at risk
- Lead QIP activity on problem areas that continually work overtime to maintain customer orders. Report progress once per week to the Business Unit Manager
Maintain mínimal inventory/drive inventory reduction:
- Ensure cycle counts are completed on a weekly basis
- Assist materials in inventory reduction plans
- Identify quality related risks and eliminate/reduce
- Support Quality in response to quality issues both internally and externally
- Perform Layered Audits and make immediate corrections to issues found
Team Building Responsibilities:
- Promote/enforce good work practices (task rotation)
- Ensure all Team Members are aware of their responsibilities and expectations
- Lead the team in setting and meeting predetermined performance standards
- Monitor day to day activities
- Provide employees with ongoing feedback on their performance (positive and negative)
- Support/develop coordinator roles
- Provide motivation and direction, strong focus on continuous improvement
- Listen to and followup concerns
- Support team initiatives and innovation
- Develop individuals
- Develop customer focused cost effective, cohesive teams
- Ensure all issues/questions are followed up in a timely fashion
- Create a sense of urgency
- Develop team leaders
- Coordinate problem solving for the team
- Lead and coordinate meetings
- Resolve team and individual conflicts in a timely fashion
Safety:
- Monitor usage of safety devices
- Monitor proper usage of PPE
- Monitor safe work practices lockout /tagout, seatbelts etc.
Training:
- Ensure all team members are trained and qualified
- Ensure team training matrices are up to date and posted at the operation
Communication:
- Define employee & team expectations
- Communicate ALL key performance indicators and ensure they are posted at the team
- Management liaison
- Strong interaction/support with fellow advisors/support groups
- Communicate hot priorities to advisors on other shifts
- Communicate team performance and priorities to other support groups as required
Plant Personnel - general:
- Administer discipline as required in a consistent manner
- Enforce plant rules & guidelines (eg. Start/Stop time, length of breaks, lunches etc.)
- Ensure adherence to safety standards
- Understand & follow policies and follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Record and approve accurate timecards in ADP
- Maintain overtime commitment
- Maintain good work habits lead by example
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Continuous Improvement complete 2 green belt projects annually
- Maintain confidentiality, ethics and professionalism
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 Diploma
- Additional education is an asset: Manufacturing Leadership Certificate, Myers Briggs, Accident Investigation, Time Management
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience
- Leadership training and experience (i.e. team leader)
- Knowledge of automotive machining and assembly processes
- Must demonstrate the ability to organize, plan and prioritize assignments

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
