Society Profile:

Seniors Services Society is a non-profit agency located in New Westminster, BC which

provides support services for seniors in New Westminster to live independently, as well

as housing information across BC and outreach services for seniors in the Lower

Mainland.


Purpose:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Grant Sourcing and Application:
  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other funding sources.
  • Communications:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy to engage stakeholders, donors, and the community.
  • Produce regular newsletters highlighting program updates, success stories, and organizational achievements.
  • Prepare compelling annual reports showcasing the impact of our programs and services.
  • Draft press releases, articles, and other written materials as needed.
  • Report Writing:
  • Compile data and information from various sources to prepare detailed reports for funders, stakeholders, and the board of directors.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Event Creation and Management:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, donor appreciation events, and community outreach activities.
  • Work closely with staff and volunteers to ensure seamless event logistics and a positive participant experience.
  • Donor Management:
  • Cultivate relationships with existing donors and identify opportunities for donor stewardship and engagement.
  • Acknowledge donations promptly and appropriately, including personalized thankyou letters and recognition.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Nonprofit Management, Communications, or Public Administration.
  • Minimum of 23 years of experience in grant writing, communications, or related roles within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives and persuasive grant proposals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with donor management software or CRM systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
