About Us
PermaCorp Group of Companies is an aluminum railings manufacturer in London, Ontario. We currently have opportunities for energetic, hardworking individuals to join our team as Welding Lead.

The Welding Foreman/Woman is responsible for cutting and prepping aluminum parts to support the Welders.

This position is best suited to very versatile people that know their way around equipment and most hand tools, can read metric and imperial tape measures, are self-starters with a can-do attitude.

Must be physically fit, as the job requires many different areas to work in, and some require moving material.

Full-time day shift - Monday

Friday 7:30am4:00pm with overtime as needed.

Key Competencies

Attention to detail and good hand eye coordination is key.
Physically fit; able to handle weights up to 23 kgs (50 lbs), standing for extended periods.
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Document use and numeracy
Strong team working skills
Reliable and honest

Responsibilities

Ability to work in a Team and individually with initiative
Supervise employees by providing training, safe working conditions, necessary tools and equipment to meet customer requirements within budget
Ability to work safely and maintain a safe working environment
Maintain safety and environmental health within the facility
Demonstrate clear leadership and development of direct reports
Ensures all equipment is in good/safe operating condition
Provide technical training related to maintenance, process systems and safety standards
Leads employees in safety, productivity, efficiency, process improvement and quality
Fosters continuous improvement and continuous improvement culture
Achieve manufacturing excellence by establishing and communicating goals, coaching, evaluating performance and developing people
Provide support and direction for good manufacturing, housekeeping and safety standards.
Assist with production on the shop floor as required.

Requirements:

3+ years previous lead or supervisory experience
5 years experience with aluminum or steel welding
Must be able to read and interpret drawings, fabricate and weld
Experience working with a bending machine, metal fabrication will be an asset
Experience working with aluminum rail fabrication, metal or flashing
Experience using various hand tools (drills, grinders, etc)
Able to measure accurately in metric
Good knowledge of the applicable safety regulations and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong leadership abilities.
