Community Service Worker

Contract - Canada Summer Job

This positions reports to:
Manager of Meal Services, Food Services Supervisor

• Proficient in the use of computers, including the Microsoft Office suite
• Minimum of six months related work experience in Home and Community Care office setting and/or comparable experience.
• Experience in food preparation.
• Successful completion of Food Handling Training course.
• Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a highvolume team environment.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic Client records to support care delivery.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; knowledge of Alayacare is an asset.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient documentation skills
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Act* and;
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

SALARY:
*$17.55 / hour

This position is funded for 35 hours in total. Hours of work and duration of position will be determined based on the needs of the department
