1 ‐ Temporary Full Time Orthopedic Research Assistant Internship**The Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute (TBRHRI) ‐ an independent, not‐for‐profit corporation ‐ is the

research arm of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC). Research, innovation and learning

Orthopedic Research Assistant Internship - NOHFC # Year Contract)
The individual filling this position works closely with the associated Orthopedic Physician and the TBRHRI Clinical

Research Services Department (CRSD). Their time is devoted to the support and development of clinical research

projects related to the Orthopedic Group. Specifically, it is the expectation that this position will support the Physician

initiated studies currently underway, as well as several upcoming studies. This will include assisting with identifying

potential research projects and funding opportunities, developing proposals, protocol writing and study document

creation, preparing research papers and reports for committees, seminars and conferences, recruiting and

administration of participants for studies, collecting and analyzing data, etc.

knowledge of the healthcare system are assets to this position. Strong writing skills and proficiency using basic

software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint are required. Along with the completion of a

degree in science or medicine, the Intern must be highly dedicated and organized, with the ability to multi task in a

fast‐paced, diverse and growing environment. Exceptional organizational and communication skills, coupled with

strong quantitative, analytic and reasoning skills are necessary. Interns must be Northern Ontario secondary school

graduates 29 years of age or under who recently graduated from an accredited college or university. Graduates from


a high school outside of Northern Ontario who have resided in the North for a least one year are also eligible.

Mature

graduates may be considered.
