    Description

    Position Summary

    Are you passionate about nursing? We're looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team and deliver compassionate care in our Community Cancer Services Nurse role, administering chemotherapy and providing oncology care to our community program. This position acts as a link between the Health Council and the BC Cancer Agency, under the general direction of the Director of Patient Care Services.

    New Wage

    Effective April 1, 2024, the new wage is $59.52/hour.

    Bulkley Valley District Hospital

    Bulkley Valley District Hospital is a 24-bed Acute Care facility that integrates home and community care into one. Some services offered include:

    • Emergency/outpatient
    • Medical
    • Surgical
    • Maternity
    • Palliative Care
    • Psychiatric Observation Unit
    • Laboratory
    • Pediatric services
    • Radiology (X-ray, Mammography, Ultrasound)
    • Home and Community Care
    • Community Cancer Clinic
    • Diverse programs of visiting specialists and surgeons

    Smithers

    Located in the picturesque Bulkley Valley, surrounded by mountains, Smithers offers a unique Alpine setting. With main industries like forestry, tourism, transportation, and agriculture, the town provides affordable housing and a natural environment supporting a balanced lifestyle.

    Population: approximately 6,000 residents with an additional 5,000 accessing services from surrounding communities. Educational facilities include elementary, secondary, alternate format schools, and Coast Mountain College.

    Qualifications

    • BC College of Nurses and Midwives registration as RN
    • Oncology nursing course or equivalent experience
    • Chemotherapy certification
