Description

Eaton's Electrical sector is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Edmonton Power Centre (EPC) facility in Alberta and offers benefits from Day1.


Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position directs and controls the movement of material in and out of the Edmonton Power Centre plant and manages key material-related functions such as: purchasing, material planning, inventory control, shipping, receiving, customer service, and warehousing.

This role is primarily responsible for supporting the EPC Manufacturing Operation and for maximizing service levels for internal & external customers.

This position directly manages the Materials Department, Warehouse employees, Customer Service, and Master Production Schedule.


What you'll do:


  • Manage all aspects of the site materials function (purchasing, material planning, inventory control, shipping, receiving, customer service, Master schedule, and warehousing), in adherence with corporate, divisional and plant policies to achieve plant, departmental, and functional goals, while ensuring compliance.
  • Develop inventory strategy, plans, and processes to drive sustainable year over year (YOY) and promote inventory reduction, without jeopardizing service levels (internal & external customers) while leveraging appropriate & prescribed functional tools (i.e. ABC/XYZ, ERP Health, Inventory Analytics, Forecast, PFEP, Planning Bills, etc).
  • Drive "cost out" to meet established objectives for distribution, logistics, and materials savings.
  • Lead monthly supply meetings per Eaton's SIOP (sales, inventory, operations policy) to forecast material requirements needed to meet production schedules, inventory levels, and shipment demands to achieve ontime production and inventory management requirements.
  • Lead the monthly production plan process (integrating forecasts, open orders, production capacity and material ordering levels). Determine ratebased materials requirements needed to meet production schedules, inventory levels, and shipment demands to achieve ontime production and inventory management requirements.
  • Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels and monitor employee performance through continuous coaching and feedback.
  • Plan and execute physical inventory process, including material offsite at supplier locations and warehouses.
  • Conduct process checks within areas of responsibility and proactively monitor performance (Inventory Dollars, Markview Inventory on Holds, Days on Hand, Cycle Count Accuracy, Receiving On-Time, Internal and External On-Time Performance) and drive root cause & corrective action as required.
  • Champion Material Flow (ELSS) for the plant and support PROLaunch projects to optimize warehouse footprint and maximize the production area.
  • Oversee the activities of the Material Schedulers to assure that customer delivery, manufacturing efficiency and plant inventory objectives are met and that engineering change activities are effectively coordinated.
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of planning bills of material in Oracle to anticipate material requirements and lead times. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth flow of materials and monitor business trends and economic cycles to anticipate change in order flow from customers and material availability from suppliers.
  • Manage ERP materials systems (e.g.
Oracle) and pull-systems, and implement & maintain processes & systems to monitor health.

  • Implement Lean manufacturing at a departmental level using lean tools and philosophies (EQMS and ISO 9001)
  • Actively support & lead PROLaunch projects to ensure quality/continuity/availability of required components to ensure seamless execution while performing functional work package approval as required.
  • Serve as an active member of the site JHSC and perform/participate in workplace inspections, Gemba (safety) walks, and process checks and maintain elements and categories of the health and safety program (MESH) that are applicable to their job

Qualifications:


Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • University Education from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five (5) years supervisory/Management experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in a manufacturing, distribution center and/or supply chain.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred qualifications:

  • APICS CPIM Certification
  • University education in business or supply chain management from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of warehouse systems, manufacturing and quality control processes and procedures; Oracle experience a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Prior supply chain or operations experience within the electrical industry.
