Under the direction of the Health and Services Manager, the Kinesiologist (employee or contractor status) works within a multidisciplinary team and assist clients with return to work and improve their quality of life


You will:

Customized Active Rehab (CAR)

  • Provide daily supervision and support to clients to implement and progress exercise and stretching programs;
  • Be responsible for day to day administrative duties involved in the operation of the programs;
  • Coordinate with facilities and purchasing for maintenance of gym equipment and supplies;
  • Within the appropriate programs, communicate with referral sources (rehabilitation consultants, case managers, etc.) as needed;
  • Develop education schedule and scheduling clients for appointments with other team members;
  • Participate in staff committees such as Health and Safety, File Review, Professional Development, or Steering Committee;
  • May be involved in providing wither mentorship to other Kinesiologists and/or supervision to Kinesiology students.

ICBC, Active Rehab and Job Site Visits (JSV):

  • Work one on one with clients rehabilitating injuries or seeking general fitness training;
  • Implement, monitor and progress exercise and work simulation programs;
  • Communicate with ICBC adjustors to arrange Active Rehab coverage, provide patient updates and progress/ discharge reports;
  • Lead clients through individualized exercise plans accurately assessing, communicating and providing hands on treatment to facilitate goal attainment for the client;
  • Assist the OR programs by conducting job site visits (JSV), liaise with employers and document information required within the programs.
Mentoring and training will be provided.

The Kinesiologist will work, at times, independently and at other times with a team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists/ Counselors, Physicians and Administrative Staff.


Requirements:


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or Human Kinetics or equivalent degree
  • Member in good standing of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK)
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Kinesiologist within a similar responsible role and in a related type of work setting
  • Travel may be required to other locations in the lower mainland
