Description
The Field Supervisor is responsible for personnel and projects under their operation. Assist in the training and maintaining well-prepared staff. Provide day-to-day supervision to staff and be responsible for safety, quality, and productivity.

Set the expectation of continuous improvement and maintain the highest regard for customer service when dealing with external and internal customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the work of employees to ensure repairs, designs, fabrications and modifications of pipe racks, dredges, trailers, truck beds and other industrial equipment is being performed according to the company's standard operating procedures.
  • Provide employees with training and guidance through the interpretation and communication of safe work procedures and company policies.
  • Discuss job performance with employees and take steps to remedy and job performance issues.
  • Partner with Human Resources and Branch Manager on any disciplinary action.
  • Partner with Health Safety & Environment department on any incident investigations.
  • Perform audits and inspections to ensure safety standards and quality are being maintained and correct any errors or problems that are observed.
  • Proactively resolve customer complaints and respond to customer's questions according to company policies and procedures in a timely manner.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly safety required paperwork, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
  • Ensures all necessary parts required to complete the service job are ready and available for work.
  • Operates all equipment safely and competently in accordance with CDLP safe work procedures and manufacturers' operating instructions.
  • Coordinates activities with other departments and divisions.
  • Plans and lays out jobs from blueprints, drawings, sketches, service manuals or verbal instructions.
  • Responds to emergency situations as necessary.
  • Wear, and participate in the ongoing training of, the required PPE for this position.
  • Provide quality customer service to our external and internal customers.
  • Lead by example with integrity.
  • Other tasks and special projects as assigned by the direct supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Ability to supervise, lead, teach and mentor staff.
  • Knowledge of the practices, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the performance of maintenance work as assigned.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Safety sensitive position preemployment testing required.
  • Knowledge of HSE Manual, safety practices, safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to the work.
  • Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal regulations, codes and ordinances pertaining to the work.
  • Ability to identify and implement effective courses of action to complete assigned work.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and manuals.
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision, follow instructions and provide feedback as required.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work.
  • Able to coordinate work assignments with other workers, divisions or departments.

Education & Experience:


  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous supervisory experience an asset.
  • Mechanically inclined and willing to learn.
  • Preemployment testing requirement.
  • Must have a valid clean abstract.

$25.00-$30.00 per hour
