The Opportunity


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and repair production equipment, structures and systems, including, but not limited to: Irrigation systems, HVAC Systems and Facility Access Systems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues through preestablished procedures
  • Provide leadership, expertise and advice in all matters related to equipment for the site
  • Achieves optimum equipment performance and availability through the execution of preventative maintenance programs to meet operational plans, schedules and standards
  • Directs the execution of corrective breakdown maintenance activities to ensure they are carried out safely, correctly and efficiently in order to maximize equipment availability
  • Help coordinate major repairs and other capital extensive projects
  • Maintain operational uptime for all automated building and operational systems
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with SOP's and guidelines
  • Ensure scheduled maintenance of all systems
  • Promote and ensure a safe work environment with strict adherence to H&S protocols
  • Provide oncall duties and respond to emergencies as required to ensure product quality is maintained
  • Develops an effective team of Facilities Maintenance Technicians & Electricians by instructing all employees in the proper methods and use of materials and equipment for safe and efficient performance
  • Ensures company rules and policies regarding employee conduct are followed and recommends disciplinary actions when required
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience & Background- Problem solving skills; willingness and flexibility to foresee and overcome obstacles- Working knowledge and experience in a wide variety of maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, pneumatics, carpentry, pumps and drywall finishing work- Knowledge of safety procedures in accordance with WHIMIS, OHSA, as well as local regulations- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently- Knowledge of Priva, Building Automation Systems to include: Boilers, Chillers, Pumps and Generators- Safety certifications such as: fall arrest, ladder safety, WHMIS, etc.- Experience using a Maintenance CMMS system, (Fiix)- 2-5 years working knowledge and experience in managing maintenance schedules, maintenance budgets, improvements of maintenance plans and must have root cause analysis technical knowledge- Experience working with HVAC, Plumbing, Chiller plants, Electrical and automated processing equipment- Must have in-depth working knowledge and experience in maintenance optimization and cost saving- Applicant must be able to climb ladders- Strong computer skills.

MS Project working knowledge and experience will be an advantage- Experience communicating with vendors- Experience with adhering to standard operating procedures- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written

This is a full-time on-site position based out of Tiverton, Ontario.
