The Opportunity

Responsibilities:

Maintain and repair production equipment, structures and systems, including, but not limited to: Irrigation systems, HVAC Systems and Facility Access Systems
Troubleshoot mechanical issues through preestablished procedures
Provide leadership, expertise and advice in all matters related to equipment for the site
Achieves optimum equipment performance and availability through the execution of preventative maintenance programs to meet operational plans, schedules and standards
Directs the execution of corrective breakdown maintenance activities to ensure they are carried out safely, correctly and efficiently in order to maximize equipment availability
Help coordinate major repairs and other capital extensive projects
Maintain operational uptime for all automated building and operational systems
Ensure work is completed in accordance with SOP's and guidelines
Ensure scheduled maintenance of all systems
Promote and ensure a safe work environment with strict adherence to H&S protocols
Provide oncall duties and respond to emergencies as required to ensure product quality is maintained
Develops an effective team of Facilities Maintenance Technicians & Electricians by instructing all employees in the proper methods and use of materials and equipment for safe and efficient performance
Ensures company rules and policies regarding employee conduct are followed and recommends disciplinary actions when required
Other duties as assigned

Experience & Background- Problem solving skills; willingness and flexibility to foresee and overcome obstacles- Working knowledge and experience in a wide variety of maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, pneumatics, carpentry, pumps and drywall finishing work- Knowledge of safety procedures in accordance with WHIMIS, OHSA, as well as local regulations- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently- Knowledge of Priva, Building Automation Systems to include: Boilers, Chillers, Pumps and Generators- Safety certifications such as: fall arrest, ladder safety, WHMIS, etc.- Experience using a Maintenance CMMS system, (Fiix)- 2-5 years working knowledge and experience in managing maintenance schedules, maintenance budgets, improvements of maintenance plans and must have root cause analysis technical knowledge- Experience working with HVAC, Plumbing, Chiller plants, Electrical and automated processing equipment- Must have in-depth working knowledge and experience in maintenance optimization and cost saving- Applicant must be able to climb ladders- Strong computer skills.

MS Project working knowledge and experience will be an advantage- Experience communicating with vendors- Experience with adhering to standard operating procedures- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
