riskthinking.
AI Inc. ("RTAI") is a visionary risk management company. We deliver the data, algorithms, and analytics needed to measure and manage financial risk resulting from climate change.

Our firm is led by Dr. Ron Dembo, who previously founded and served as CEO of Algorithmics Inc. Prior to its sale to Fitch Ratings Inc. and later IBM Corp., Algorithmics was the largest enterprise risk management company in the world. Dr.

Dembo has taken his patented multi-factor scenario modeling expertise and combined it with a team of cutting-edge climate scientists, data scientists, and computer science experts to create a method for measuring climate risk that is rooted in first principles of financial risk management.

Position Overview

You will work as part of the Climate Risk Team at and will be instrumental in improving the quality and availability of the data used in our scenario products.

This includes compiling, interpreting, evaluating, and presenting climate risk data in innovative ways, and contributing to the improvement and augmentation of the data using machine learning approaches.

We are building high-quality tools and vibrant communities of experts to support decision-makers to develop plans and policies that account for and minimize the risks that they face due to climate change.

We want you to help us make that vision a reality

Position Responsibilities

  • Design methodologies to enhance best practices in risk modelling and climate analytics by incorporating RTAI data infrastructure
  • Knowledge of data management and visualization techniques.
  • Strong experience and knowledge in climate change risk assessments, climate impact modelling, adaptation and vulnerability topics (for example, the IPCC domain), climate scenarios and projected changes.
  • Experience in geospatial analysis, data science or simulation models related to the environmental and socioeconomic impacts of climate change, including the impact on infrastructure.
  • Analysis of climate datasets to establish constraints, mechanistic connections, or sensitivity of target quantities to sources of variability (natural or forced)
  • Analysis of climate variability and largescale dynamics (e.g., El Niño-Southern Oscillation, North Atlantic Oscillation / Polar Vortex, Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation, Quasibiennial oscillation)
  • Work alongside the CTO, CPO, and Sales teams to provide technical support, and participate in the design, development, and validation of products through all stages of the products lifecycle.

Requirements:

Technical Requirements

  • Have proficiency in commonlyused Computer languages used for modeling and analysis (C, C++, Fortran, Python, Julia, R, Matlab)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience demonstrated ability to conduct studies to analyze remote sensing and/or environmental data, or climate models (e.g. Earth systems, power, water, food, sensor systems, ecological restoration).
