What can I expect to do in this role?


In this role, you will:

- audit corporate credit cards (i.e. Purchasing cards, travel cards) and employee expense claims for compliance with financial directives and guidelines.
- provide financial services such as preparing financial reports, reconciling financial information, responding to inquiries and providing advice regarding financial matters.
- prepare and code revenue deposits, maintaining spreadsheets
- receive and ensure the safekeeping of ministry contract security documents review and file corporate credit card statements and employee expense claims and maintain the movable asset inventory system

How do I qualify?


Financial Knowledge and Skills:


  • You have knowledge of financial analysis methods and techniques to process, monitor, audit, and reconcile reports with source documents and to respond to inquiries.
  • You have knowledge of financial directives and guidelines and accounting procedures related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, assets management, contract security documents; knowledge of procurement guidelines to provide advice to clients.

Analytical Skills:


  • You utilize attention to detail, focus on accuracy and analytical skills to audit corporate card and expense claim compliance, resolve discrepancies, research and provide advice, and create and interpret financial reports.
  • You have arithmetic, reviewing skills, reading and interpretation skills to research financial inquiries, ensure accurate database information, resolve issues and provide advice.

Communication Skills:


  • You have strong oral communication skills, customer service and interpersonal skills to raise audit discrepancies, explain financial directives and guidelines to new staff, present reports, and liaise with various contacts.

Organizational Skills:


  • You have strong organizational skills to maintain a large amount of monthly transactions, monitoring, and reporting and system access requests.
  • You utilize organizational skills to ensure appropriate approvals are sought for financial transactions and procurements and to communicate and resolve discrepancies identified though monthly audits.
