Job Summary

The Ministry of the Attorney General is responsible for government law reform, the administration of justice, and for providing legal services that ensure lawful public administration.

The Ministry provides leadership to the justice sector and delivers justice services.

Court Services Branch (CSB) employs 1,300 staff to deliver programs and services at 89 court locations, in person, by telephone, via video and the Internet.


The activities of the CSB Regional Headquarters Office includes a wide range of financial services including budget development and monitoring; accounting and financial reporting; payment processing; financial controls; systems support; support for procurement; human resource management; and facilities management.

The Regional Support Services Administrator is required to demonstrate financial and administrative practices to effectively manage the region's administrative resources (e.g. budget, people, materials, assets, etc.).

The position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the region's financial data systems, as well as other accounting functions.

The Administrator is the region's contact for HR related functions (e.g. Staffing, etc.) linking with the BC Public Service Agency and providing guidance to the Regional Executive Director, Superintendent, region managers and staff. The Administrator will also take the lead in regional business continuity activities in case of service interruptions.


Job Requirements:


Education and Experience:

Secondary school graduation (Grade 12) or equivalent (GED).

A combination of education and experience may be considered.


Experience:

One (1) year of experience in office administration and/or office management.

Experience managing sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy, and sound judgement by telephone and in person.

Experience preparing and processing staffing and employee documentation.

Experience in recording minutes of meetings.


Preference may be given to those with:

One (1) year of recent (within the last 5 years) experience operating systems entering data, extracting data, and producing reports: CAS to process accounts payable; Time & Leave Management to process employees' pay transactions; and PeopleSoft (CHIPS) for HR, pay and benefit inquiries and training administration.

Experience in Court Services Branch.
