We are a leading security systems integrator, specializing in commercial, industrial, institutional and government markets.


Position Overview:

We are looking for experienced Electronic Security Technicians. We have openings in both our Service and Installation departments.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Respond to a variety of customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls, and emergency and afterhours calls on a timely basis.
  • Analyze repair requirements and provide customer with appropriate solutions
  • Execute the technical aspects of single or multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets. This includes programming, development, startup, testing, and commissioning of a variety of technical security systems, including custom and complex integrated systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company expectations.
  • Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customer and ABC Security to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
  • Provide technical support and training to end users when applicable.
  • Provide excellent customer service on behalf of ABC Security.
  • Maintain vehicle inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Other Requirements:


  • Intruder Alarm Systems Experience with alarm panels, keypads, door contacts, motion detectors, glass break sensors, sirens, cabling, programming, and connection to central stations


  • Access Control Systems

  • Experience with card readers, electric locking hardware, request to exit devices, keypads, access door controllers, reader interfaces, I/O interfaces, door contacts, system software, and cabling (conduit experience preferred)
  • IP and Analog Camera Systems
  • Experience with DVR's, NVR's, analog cameras (TVI, CVI etc.), IP cameras, network switches, routers, patch panels, surge protection & UPS's, cabling, and programming (conduit experience preferred)
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent customer services skills
  • Solid technical skills and experience related to electronic security systems
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
  • Exceptional ability to interpret manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams
  • Able to repair equipment
  • Able to use standard or specialized test instruments
  • Able to use hand tools
  • Able to work independently with general supervision
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to execute all work in accordance with provincial and local regulations, demonstrate and maintain full compliance with the company expectations for general best practices as well as adherence to the company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • A valid Ontario G class driver's license
  • A clean driver's abstract
  • A clean criminal record check.
  • Familiarity with driving throughout the GTA.
  • Your own tools (Speciality tools are provided by the company)

Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years of relevant field security service experience

Education:


  • Industry certifications and training

Job Type:


  • Permanent
  • Full Time (40 hours per week)

Hours of Work:


  • Regular Hours_
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • On Call Rotation (Split evenly among technicians for 1 week at a time)_
  • Monday to Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • 24hour service is NOT required

Working Conditions:


  • Travel to various customer sites across the GTA (industrial, commercial, construction sites, etc.), coming to the office/warehouse when necessary
  • Must be able to walk, climb, stand, lift, and bend repeatedly
  • Must be able to work in hot and cold temperatures
  • Some lifting of heavy equipment or materials (doors)

Location:


  • ABC Security's offices and warehouses are located at 55 Queens Plate Dr, Etobicoke, ON M9W 6P2. However, technicians mainly work at customer locations.
