Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Pharmacy Technical Ops
As an integral member of the In-Patient Pharmacy team, the Pharmacy Technician will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution.
Duties will include independently performing all technical aspects of unit dose distribution, repackaging, intravenous admixing, including chemotherapy and TPNs, replenishing ward stock medications, narcotic and controlled substances preparation and deliveries and inventory control functions.
The pharmacy technician will strive to deliver quality patient care, excellent customer service and enhance patient safety by ensuring the accuracy, quality, integrity and timeliness of pharmaceutical product preparation and release.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the drug distribution system and provision of pharmacy services to all patient care areas
- Familiarity with pharmacy automation including PillPick, Pyxis, CII Safe and Table Top Packager.
- Strong organizational skills to manage narcotic and controlled substances consistent with Federal and Provincial regulatory standards.
- Superior communication skills that can be applied when interacting with interdisciplinary staff, and external resources.
- Precept and supervise pharmacy technician students, and perform additional functions as delegated by pharmacists
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision and to manage completing duties/priorities.
Qualifications:
- Must have completed a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college.
- Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- Minimum one year of experience working in an inpatient hospital pharmacy setting and aseptic technique skills are strongly preferred.
- Excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of St. Michael's Hospital.

$28.47-$35.95 per hour
