Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes work requirements by orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees and supervising subcontractors.
  • Delegating tasks to team members and holding them accountable
  • Conduct daily meetings outlining daily scope of work and associated hazards
  • Determine equipment and material needs onsite and coordinate their delivery with the project coordinator and site superintendent.
  • Meets construction work standards by following production, quality, and customerservice standards, resolving operational problems, and identifying work process improvements.
  • Assist the Superintendent in creating shortterm schedules and monitors such schedules
  • Plans construction projects by studying technical specifications and drawings; ordering and scheduling materials and equipment.
  • Inspecting work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting shared ownership and responsibility for each project and exploring opportunities to add value to each project
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients, contractors, inspectors, etc., as required.
  • Participation in daily and weekly update meetings
  • Evaluate worker's abilities
  • Maintain an exemplary safety record, knowledge of safety procedures, and the hazards specific to each job.
  • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with team members, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Communicate daily with the site superintendent and coordinator to ensure production timelines are achievable and potential obstacles are mitigated by organizing additional resources or communicating delays with the client.
  • Generating daily worksheets with cost codes and recording quantities
  • Work with the superintendent to ensure deficiencies are remedied in a timely fashion and documentation is provided to the coordinator and office staff

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum three years of experience as a Sewer and Water supervisor in heavy civil construction
  • Ability to work unsupervised and lead work crews
  • Ability to work out of town if and when required
  • Coordination with subcontractors, suppliers and owners
