The Financial and Administrative Services Branch (FASB) provides a broad range of financial and administrative support services to the various divisions within the Department of Families.
The EIA-SAMIN Accounts Payable team within the Financial and Administrative Services Branch is responsible for processing all payables for the Employment and Income Assistance program.
The Accounts Payable Supervisor is required to work independently in a team environment, demonstrate flexibility and effectiveness with changing environments, tasks, responsibilities and actively seeks new processes that provide service more effectively or efficiently.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Postsecondary education including enrollment at the intermediate level of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with SAMIN accounts payable module and SAP financial management module.
- Experience in processing accounts payable transactions, recoveries and reviewing supporting documentation for compliance with policies, procedures, legislation and/or regulations.
- Excellent analytic and problemsolving skills including the ability to interpret and balance financial data intergrated between two different accounting systems.
- Experience supervising staff including providing training, leadership and prioritizing team member's tasks, and assessing their performance.
- Experience in investigating fraudulent activities related to financial programs.
- Excellent verbal communication skills to convey clear and effective messages to internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written communication skills to prepare documentation that is understood by a variety of audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with departmental staff, external agencies, other professionals and the public.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines.
Duties:
The position reports directly to the Central Comptroller of The Financial and Administrative Services Branch (FASB).
The SAMIN Accounts Payable Supervisor is primarily responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all social assistance bills submitted for payment on the SAMIN system.
This includes confirming that all invoices passed for voucher processing comply with regulations, policies and procedures.The Supervisor responds to inquiries and provides advice to Employment and Income Assistance (EIA) program areas and clients as it relates to accounts payables function.
