ROLE TITLE:

QUALITY CONTROL CHEMIST (12 MONTHS TERM in wet chemistry)**
DEPARTMENT:QUALITY CONTROL**
REPORTS TO:QUALITY CONTROL SUPERVISOR**
HOURS:15:30 - 00:00 (evening shift)**Reporting to the Supervisor, Quality Control for the Steinbach site this role will provide support for the analysis and release of raw materials/stability/finish product samples to meet quality control schedules.

Review of lab documentation and procedures. Provide exceptional technical support including troubleshooting of analytical problems.


Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate project and routine analytical testing activities in QC lab.
  • Write and review SOP's and STM's, protocols, technical reports, and analytical data.
  • Conduct routine sample testing, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve instrumental and analytical problems and escalate issues as required (internal and external).
  • Provide training to QC analysts on analytical instrumentation, test methods, and reporting analytical results.
  • Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Participate, and maintain occupational health, safety, and wellness at work.
  • Communicate effectively to meet business demands and customer service requests.

E
ducation and Experience:


  • Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry or Life Science or College diploma in Chemical Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years' related industry experience with proficiency using laboratory instrumentation,
  • Strong knowledge of USP, European and Japan pharmacopoeias.
  • Working knowledge of Health Canada, FDA, ICH regulations and guidelines that govern the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, SAP, and GLIMS.

Required competencies/Abilities:


  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and task.
  • Strong attention to detail
