POSITION:
Maintenance Supervisor**
LOCATION: Polycorp Ltd. 33 York St W. Elora, ON


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Industrial Electrician(442A) or Millwright(433A) certification of no less than 5 years.
  • Minimum requirement of 5 years' experience in industrial environment.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Quality, cost, and safety conscious.


  • Proficient computer skills

  • Office 36
  • Must be willing and able to train employees in their various duties.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Able to traverse the plant and adhere to PPE requirements.

DUTIES:


  • Initiate, direct, and supervise the activities of employees and equipment in Maintenance department.
  • Serve as a coordinating resource for Management, Production, hourly and salaried personnel in the daily operation and functions of both the maintenance and production processes, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Control and update CMMS system, including generating, scheduling, assigning, reviewing, and closing of work orders.
  • Planning and preparation of projects.
  • Communicating with, and scheduling of outside contractors.
  • Initiate, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and/or provide guidance.
  • Assist in mentoring Apprentices.
  • Monitor and control training activities in the Maintenance department.
  • Communicate effectively and accurately in both oral and written form.
  • Communicate with employees in a group or on an individual basis.
  • Effectively and promptly respond to employee concerns.
  • Responsible for employee relations including handling employee complaints, obtaining help and guidance for employees, and awareness of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Legislation, and Environmental and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Work, and ensures that all employee work, in the manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and those within Company Policies.
  • Conduct regular department meetings including shift changeover.
  • Complete performance evaluations for their department.
  • Active member of the JHSC.
