Your Role
The mission for this role is to lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers building and maintaining a

modern Fintech platform in the AWS environment, Our DevOps engineers are asked to manage a unique

set of coding responsibilities. Rather than specialize in a single scripting language, a DevOps engineer

will have demonstrated competency with multiple languages, such as Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python,

PHP, and others. Our DevOps engineers must feel comfortable writing and debugging issues in multiple

languages and OS environments.


What you will be doing
The DevOps Manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of experienced,

innovative, and collaborative engineers managing the Company's entire AWS cloud infrastructure. Core

responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruit talented, experienced, and collaborative Engineers. Align skills and interests to areas of
need in the business. Develop an onboarding and training program which emphasizes

continuous learning and regular education and skills development.

  • Lead our DevOps team and define team goals for operating as a Cloud Center of Excellence
(CCOE) team.

  • Scale Code: the DevOps Manager evaluates the product and writes code to scale functions to fit
the needs of the business. Scalability is one of the most important aspects of writing good code,

as it facilitates future growth.

  • Automation: the DevOps Manager needs to know how to use and understand the roles of the

following types of tools:
version control; continuous integration servers; configuration

management; deployment automation; containers; infrastructure orchestration; monitoring &
analytics; testing & cloud quality tools; and network protocols.

  • Test: the DevOps Manager organizes and evaluates testing processes once code is implemented
  • Distribute: the DevOps Manager organizes and participates in peer review processes
  • Monitor: the DevOps Manager evaluates new code when added, evaluating for code bugs,
regression issues, and vulnerabilities. Responsible for continually monitoring our infrastructure,

identifying and remediating bugs, and ensuring that it is ready for the end-user.

  • Communicate: the DevOps Manager must have outstanding interpersonal skills along with strong
verbal and written communication. The Manager will be regularly engaged with our CTO and

lead software developers in order to understand our software platform growth plan and align our

AWS infrastructure to support business growth.


Shared Responsibilities
At Exact Payments, all DevOps team members are responsible for (i) Collaboration; (ii) Maintaining CI/CD

Pipelines; (iii) Automation Implementation; (iv) On-Call Incident Response, and (v) Application

Maintenance and Documentation.


About You

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing a team of DevOps, Operations, or software engineers
  • Education and/or experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in
Computer Science or equivalent certifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in building, operating and maintaining cloud
infrastructure on AWS (VPC, Security Groups, IAM, S3, EKS, CloudWatch, CloudFront, SQS,

SNS, Lambda, etc.)

  • Demonstrated prior DevOps, software engineering, or related experience.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and a general understanding of software environments and
network topologies

  • Able to facilitate technical design sessions
  • Solid understanding of an iterative software development process
  • Ability to use Linux administration commandline programs and create/edit scripts
  • Knowledge of one or more of the tools
  • Chef, Ansible, puppet.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the tools
  • IAC, Containerization, and orchestration (Terraform,
Docker & Kubernetes)

  • Experienced with security and encryption protocols
  • Knowledge of one of the cloud infrastructure providers
  • AWS, GCP, and
