Our Client:
A leading, publicly listed global investment and asset management firm is seeking a Senior Associate, Credit Fund Operations to join its Toronto-based team.
Candidates must be currently working in Canada. This role does not offer relocation or sponsorship.
The Role:
This is a hands-on, technically focused role ideal for a fund accounting professional with strong experience supporting credit investment vehicles.
The Senior Associate will play a key role in fund accounting, NAV oversight, performance reporting, and regulatory deliverables, while working closely with third-party administrators and internal investment teams.
Reporting into the Credit Fund Operations group, the successful candidate will be responsible for:Preparing and reviewing monthly NAV calculations, including reconciliations and waterfall support across multiple credit funds
Maintaining accurate fund books and records in coordination with third-party administrators and transfer agents
Supporting performance reporting, including IRR, MOIC, DPI, and rate of return metrics
Assisting with quarterly and annual financial statements, audit support, and statutory filings under US GAAP
Supporting accounting and operational oversight for credit portfolios, including bank loans, corporate bonds, ABS, and CLOs
Providing accounting guidance on complex transactions such as paydowns, PIK income, restructurings, maturities, deferred compensation, and cost of carry
Preparing workpapers and reporting packages for regulatory and investor reporting, including US SEC-related filings
Supporting capital activity processes, including capital calls, distributions, and investor statements
Contributing to process improvements, system enhancements, automation initiatives, and ad hoc reporting for senior stakeholders
This role offers strong exposure to complex credit products within a highly collaborative, execution-focused environment.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
CPA designation (preferred)
5–6 years of experience in public and/or private fund accounting, with exposure to credit funds, fund administration, or buy-side environments
Big 4 or buy-side experience preferred, particularly with credit or financial services exposure
Demonstrated experience with waterfall calculations and complex credit instruments (bank loans, ABS, CLOs, derivatives)
Strong Excel skills; experience with fund accounting or trading platforms (e.g., Geneva, Broadridge, Bloomberg, WSO) considered an asset
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage detailed reporting requirements in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
